The Shire
Saturday December 27, 2014 Delhi, NY 10pm

POSTED BY TIN MONK; DEC 21TH, 2:24PM

Posted on time. Soon we will know the full power of the timely side of the Force.

Well, even with but one gig last week, it was a great gathering time had by all. Jimmy D's, both the owner and the patrons, were rambucious as always, and the food was great. A glass raised for a phenomenal 2014, and to many more. Merry Whatever-You-Celebrate. Every one.

Let's begin, shall we?

Our first gig this week will directly proceed Christmas day, Friday Dec 26th, at the Wherehouse. It will be a full band appearance, which means it will include our bassist Jim Lucas, and our drummer Sam Allen. The performance starts at 9:00pm in the front room. Aside from being slightly older than Talking Machine are, the Wherehouse was also hosted our Debut CD release party, and helped us introduce the full four-piece to fans and newcomers. Celebrate the Season and the Year's End with us. Event Listing by Talking Machine. Event Listing by the Wherehouse.

Our final gig, and I mean that of 2014, will be at the Shire Pub in Delhi. Consider it Christmas/New Year's Eve bash. Starts at 10PM. This will be our final gig of the Year, so come on by if you're in the area.

Merry Whatever-You-Celebrate. Remember that Jesus wasn't born on Christmas Day, or even in Winter. There is no such thing as Santa, elves, a workshop on the northpole, or flying reindeer. Christians who decorate trees are ostensibly pissing God off. Basically everything we celebrate in December is a lie. Happy Holidays.

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. And now EVERYWHERE!!

As always, thank you. Please enjoy.

Jimmy D's Christmas Party

Darien Social CANCELLED
Saturday December 20, 2014 Darien, CT 9pm

POSTED BY TIN MONK; DEC 18TH, 5:30PM

A very late post. Surprised.

Great times had by all last week. The Gaslight was precocious as ever, and we got to see a long lost fan again. We promise, Jared, we'll do the entire "Superunknown" album for you. We've said it on the internet. Therefore it is now true. Of course, Max's On Main was filled to the brim with fans and newcomers alike. Great time as always.

Let's begin, shall we?

Before we get to the gigs, lets talk about this site. Last week, Talking Machine, including our Bass and Drummer-for-hire, Jim Lucas and Sam Allen respectively, had a photo shoot with our friend and business associate Robert Rutigliano behind the camera. If you will remember, he was also responsible for our first published interview which was featured in More Sugar last month. He's a great photographer, among other things, and it was our first shoot with Jim and Sam. The Spruce Inn was kind and patient enough to lend us the bar for the evening. Go HERE to see the pics.

First up, is a montly return to Jimmy D's Blues Saloon. It happens to be their Christmas Party, so we'll come through armed with Holiday classics, more than likely sprinkled with foul words and/or phrases. It is Jimmy's place after all.

Next up is nothing. Yup. We've had the gig date on the calendar for months, but Darien Social decided to give us the old "so sorry, no gig for you...next time?" two weeks before the gig. And so, for the foreseeable future, we will no longer be playing there. If you frequent Darien, and want us back, feel free to speak to the owner. If he remembers. Good luck with that.

Bitterness aside, Merry Whatever-You-Celebrate.

I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

As always, thank you. Please enjoy.

Max's On Main

POSTED BY TIN MONK; DEC 8TH, 11PM

A timely post. I'm trying. Believe me.

Fantasic time at last week. The Wherehouse; As always, a warm welcome by all. The Spruce was filled with a captivated crowd, most there to see us, as well as a few converts. We managed to capture some good audio/video as well. And Lastly, Dutch's. Good to see some old friends. Happy birthday Mark.

On that note, let's get started. Two gigs this week. One faaaar away. One close.

First up, our montly second Friday at the Gas Light Pub in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Our home away from home if you would. Starts a 10PM if you're in the area. They even have a Pac-Man/Galaga cocktail arcade machine. If that means anything to you, you are a nerd...and a friend.

Saturday at Max's On Main in Beacon, NY. A consistant montly affair, and one of our favorite places. We'll start at 9:30PM. Great food and service. Don't order the coffee.

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. Still plan on putting it everywhere else. I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

As always, thank you. Please enjoy.

POSTED BY TIN MONK; DEC 4TH, 11PM

Another late post. You see? I told you.

Last week, we had a cancellation which led to a last minute booking at the Roadhouse, an old place with new management in Airmont. Barely a few months old, and we're one of the first to play within it's revamped interior. We were honored and blessed to see farmiliar faces not only from our Shawnee Foottruck festival (passersby who remembered who were are and what we do), but our Haverstraw crew, a group of family and friends for my old monthly gig at Bella Rose. Thanks to all of you who came through, and to Vera, for the photos and the nachos.

Anyway, three gigs this week. Each farther away than the next

First up is The Wherehouse. As always, are monthly first Thursday. Not much to say except: Newburgh, 8 to 11. Good food and beer. And Talking Machine. Event Listing

Friday, we are returning to The Spruce Inn. This place has become somewhat of a mainstay, and we love, and are loved, by the patrons and Proprietors. And so: Putnam Vally, 9 to 12. Good food and beer. And Talking Machine. Event Listing

Lastly, we are playing at our bi-annual spot Dutch's Tavern in Rock Hill. Come out if you're in the area. Rock Hill 9 to 11. Talking Machine will be there. Yes. Event Listing

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. Still plan on putting it everywhere else. I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

Thanks for everything.

Week of November 17th to November 23rd

Darien Social
Friday November 21, 2014 Darien, CT 9pm

Max's On Main
Saturday November 22, 2014 Beacon, NY 9pm

POSTED BY TIN MONK; NOV 16TH, 11PM

A timely post. Don't get excited. It never lasts.

First, let me say, we had the pleasure of trying some chili concocted by the owner of the Gaslight (powerword: Metal Pub) and it was awesome. It's a seasonal thing, so if you're up (or down, or east, or west of) Wellsboro, Penn, stop by and try. For real, as it were.

This week, one local, one not.

The first is Darien Social, a great upscale gastro-pub in Darien, Connecticut (imagine that!!). Great sounding room, and the food is great. I've heard. We wouldn't know because it isn't part of our pay. The coffee, though, is amazing. Either way, show starts at 9pm.

Saturday, is our monthly performance at Max's on Main. While it's not a consistant, particular day, you're always guaranteed a Talking Machine show at Max's. I've been told we are too loud there. A nylon string guitar and two vocals. That's Metal. Or Wood. Wood Metal. Starts at 9:30.

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. Still plan on putting it everywhere else. I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

Thanks for everything.

Week of November 10th to November 16th

Calendar

The Gas Light Pub
Friday November 14, 2014 Wellsboro, PA 10pm

Andes Hotel
Saturday November 15, 2014 Andes, NY 9pm

Another another very late post. Even some more forgiveness.

This week, two not so local shows.

The first is our monthly 2nd Friday at the Gaslight, a great metal pub in Wellboro, Pennsylavania. They were even awesome enough to add our debut to the juke box. Remember those? It's one of our favorite places, not only because we get lotsa love, but it's one of the few places we can freely curse into high powered amplification without reservation.

Saturday, we'll be performing at the Andes Hotel in...Andes, NY. It's opening day of Hunting Season. The event has become something of constant, as this our third year. Believe it or not, we go over pretty well with hunters. I'd imagine it's the beard.

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. Still plan on putting it everywhere else. I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

Thanks for everything.

Grand Central Grill
Friday November 07, 2014 Fishkill, NY 9pm

Creekside Pub
Saturday November 08, 2014 Newburgh, NY 9pm

Another very late post. Some more forgiveness.

This week, three local shows: Our monthly gig at the Wherehouse November 6th from 8PM to 11PM. We've been doing this gig for over four years now, and we're in for another. For all intents and purpose, the Wherehouse is our homebase, not to mention one of our favorites.

November 7th we have our debut performance at Grand Centro Grill, a new place that opened up in Fishkill. It has been awhile since I've played in the area, and the first Talking Machine performance in Fishkill. Show starts at 9PM. Support Grand Centro and Talking Machine. Or Don't. Whatever.

Finally, we'll be at the Creekside Pub in Newburgh/Middlehope area. Been under new management for about two years, and they have the best wings in the Hudson Valley. Come through if you're in the area. Show starts at 9PM

And finally, finally, we have been blessed with a full page spread in the Local Zine More Sugar. We were interviewed by the venerable Rob Rutigliano (of the Rutigliano Group), and he gave us a chance to speak our mind on the album, the band, and our relationship. Check it out online here, and expect a physical copies to be available by the end of the week. Thanks to Rob and More Sugar. This will officially be our first published interview as Talking Machine. Here's to many more.

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. Still plan on putting it everywhere else. I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

Thanks for everything.

Calendar

Max's On Main
Friday October 24, 2014 Beacon, NY 9:30pm

The Spruce Hill Inn
Saturday October 25, 2014 Punman Valley, NY 9pm

A very late post. Forgiveness.

This week, two local shows, which means MUCH less driving for us, and a chance to see local fans and friends: Max's on Main on Friday, and The Spruce Inn on Saturday, a gig we will be recording (both audio and video). Once the A/V is captured I should have those videos up a week or so.

The food truck festival was awesome, cold, and delicious. Special thanks to Josh and the Shawnee crew for the hospitality, and making us feel like diplomats by walking our car out of the performance area. See you next year. Oh, and Jim Lucas was incredible as always.

Don't forget: The Hammer and the Dove, available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, and Spotify. Still plan on putting it everywhere else. I'll update here and our Facebook Page when we do.

Thanks for everything.

There's been a bit of an overhaul to the calendar which will hopefully make it easier to navigate. I'm still adding goodies here and there, and will be doing so for the foreseeable future.

We have links to our album page, and the each of the pages will have purchase links. If you're not into DRM or just hate iTunes, we have a link to Amazon MP3. It's DRM free.

Here's to everyone who came out to see us at the Wherehouse on Thursday, a thank you to the guys and gals in the barn (you know who you are), and a show of gratitude to everyone who stopped to listen, and those who bought our CD, at Applefest.

This week, we're at our monthly metal haven, the Gas Light Pub in Wellsboro, PA. The owner was awesome enough to put our CD in the jukebox. Remember those?

Then, Saturday night, is a performance at the Upfront Gallery in Port Jervis, featuring the work of Mikey Teutul.

Thanks to everyone for their love and support.

Then, we spend the weekend at Shawnee Mountain, sharing the stage with The Jim Roberte Trio, playing for a crowd of culinary connoisseurs dining at the Food Truck Festival. Joining us will be Jim Lucas on bass. If you're up in the area, or are looking for a way reason to get the hell out of the house, come on up and join us.

We return to the Wherehouse for our Monthly Thursday extravaganza. If you're on Facebook (that new website that only the cool kids know about) you can join the event if you're so inclined.

Saturday we perform at a pig-roast. Seriously. We love our job.

Sunday is Applefest. From what I hear, it's equal parts awesome and perilous, due to literally Six Million people flocking to get apples. It's cool with me. I'll be on stage.

Last Saturday the 13 was phenomenal. Many great friends, family, and fans came through to celebrate the release of our debut album, The Hammer and The Dove, and see us perform the album from front to back with a full band. We were honored to be joined by Jim Lucas on bass, and Sam Allen (of the Dylan Doyle Band) on drums. All of this was hosted by the Wherehouse in Newburgh, our base of operations in the Hudson Valley. Special thanks to Dan Brown, the venerable owner of said fine establishment, and the great staff who keep us caffeinated and fed.

The album is now available on iTunes, and more stores will be forthcoming. Physical copies will be available wherever we perform for the time being, so keep an eye on our calendar for a place near you.

Thanks everyone for everything. This is the beginning.

Thank you, please enjoy.

RECORD RELEASE: Talking Machine's The Hammer and the Dove
Saturday September 13, 2014 Newburgh, NY 9pm

At long last, Talking Machine's debut album, The Hammer and the Dove, will be available September 13. We will be selling physical copies of the CD at our record release party at the Wherehouse in Newburgh. We will also be releasing the CD online at Itunes, Spotify, and Amazon MP3 (which is also DRM free). Eventually we will be selling the CD at as many online stores as possible, and we'll update when that happens. Of course, we will also be selling physical CD's wherever we are performing.

We are planning on selling them through this site. However, due to infrastructure, I can't give you an ETA. I'll update when it's completed.

So, come to the Wherehouse this Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 9PM to secure a copy, see us live, and enjoy a performance of the full CD with a Jim Lucas on Bass, and Sam Allen on Drums. Yep. A full band. Those of you following us for a while will know how rare that is, and Talking Machine is excited to share the performance and our music with all of you.

Tin Monk says:

We have recently moved registar/web hosting servers, and have been slowly updating. I've been terrible at keeping the sites updated, and I am attempting to streamline the work involved to better serve myself and our fans. From this point on I'll be updating the "home" page of the site weekly with a run down of our performances for that week. I'll be taking a "work week" approach, so It'll be from Mondays to Sundays. I'll also be implementing an email mailing list for fans within the next few days, so I'll keep you posted.

Thanks everyone for their patience and understanding.

Dec 11th, 2012

Lotsa updates, and Tin Monk apologizing for talking so long to update. Music, Photos, and Videos updated. Thank you. Oh and our Giglisting now linked to our GigMasters page

May 4th, 2011

Recently joined ReverNation, and will be updating that as well. We have a whole lotta gigs lined up, and a listing is provided with every link on this site, and I'll more than likely be updating our satellite sites as well.

We had the honor of doing sound and performing at the Port Jervis Antiques festival, an outdoor event, which featured ourselves and two other great acts:

Joe Foss and Win Michaels

Walt Edwards

We had an absolutely wonderful time, and are looking forward to further fests in Port Jervis.

We've had a lot of performances and are greatful for the old and new fans alike, and for the great responses from venues kind enough to host us. Playing this Thursday, and the first Thursday of each month for the foreseeable future, at the Wherehouse in Newburgh. See you all soon.

January 26th, 2011

A couple of things: 1. This Saturday, Jan 29th Talking Machine is at The Hoot Owl in Pine Bush. We are of the opinion that this is one of the best sounding rooms in the area ( for us ) so come check it out. 2. Our regular first Thurs of the month gig at The Wherehouse in Newburgh has been pushed to the second Thursday ...in Feb.. The date of that gig is Feb 10th, regular time 8pm. See ya...

January 18th, 2011

Buncha updates. Added embedded YouTube vids to the Videos section, added hotlinks to various external Talking Machine sites, and overall made it easier to figure out what's happening. Also added a side cell with upcoming performance listing. Just getting started...thank you!
